Well, I find myself giving more and more handmade gifts every year. My heart kind of thrills at the notion, I admit it. As the season for giving approaches (which should be all year round, but I digress), my mind is abuzz with things to make, fabrics and yarns to buy, and sweets to eat.
Now, when I'm working on a project, I enjoy having a good flick or show on in the background to keep me entertained. It must be one that I've seen before, so that I can putt putt along on my project and not miss any parts of the show without feeling guilty. So, my darling readers, whom I am ever so fond of, I thought I would share with you my top five favorite movies to get my make on to:
#5: Gone With The Wind: Yes it's a little on the longish side, but heck, it's perfect for a longish craft. And it's oh, so romantic.
Notable lines: "But Miss Scarlet! I don't know nothin' about birthin' no babies!"
#4: Oklahoma: Because the lines are just so memorizable and you can sing along to all the great music.
Notable lines (from the song Jud Fry is Daid) :
"Poor Jud is dead
A candle lights his head
He's lookin' oh so purty and so nice
He looks like he's asleep
It's a shame that he won't keep
But it's summer and we're runnin' out a' ice"
#3: So I Married An Axe Murderer: Because it's hilarious and oh so '90's.
Notable lines: "Pregnant Man Gives Birth'. That's a fact."
#2: Any seasons of Arrested Development: Because it never, ever gets old. Just the music from the opening sequence puts me in a good mood.
Notable lines: "I blue myself."
#1: You've Got Mail: I know, I know, it's a romantic comedy. But I can honestly say I've seen this movie more times than any other, and it also never gets old.
Notable lines:
"1-5-2. The number of people who think he looks like Clark Gable."
"Oh ho! Yeah! The number of people who think he looks like a Clark bar..."
There you have it. Now go pop in a flick and get your make on. Make a mess, have fun, and don't forget the glitter.
Love,
Belina

Fun, fun movies. No wonder why you and Martha get along so well!
Oh to craft with a cozy flick on. I love my kiddos but man that sounds appealing.
bytheway i've never seen flick #4 or #5
Ooh! I wish we could get our craft on together! That'd be so excellent right now.
Also, I think I saw Oklahoma with you once. And I've only seen Gone with The Wind once, too. Forever ago. Like, eons. I barely remember it.
But AD? Always choice. :)
my dear abby,
if i could do anything that would be even remotely close to something that you had done, i would be absolutely thrilled!
I would like to request a Belina tutorial on those adorable felt brooches you did in San Jose. PUH LEEEEZE.
