The white iris finally bloomed. A couple of the stalks were gnawed off by some completely bored and utterly unmagical garden creature (I have yet to locate the perpetrator and build the appropriate death trap for it/him/her). After the carnage was over, I picked the botanical casualties out of the dirt and brought them in the house.
I know, I know. More flowers.
But just look at them.

They be gorgeous. All up in your light fixture and everything!
Those are beautiful. I'm jealous of your gardening skills! Keep up the instructional posts.. I'm learning lots :)
those are beautiful. seriously lovely.
Lovely
So lovely! I want some on my dining room table. But who am I kidding? The stupid cats would probably just eat them anyway...
Were there any bite marks on the stems? They can be used to identify the perpetrator!!!!.
Beautiful flowers. Way to go.
Your flowers are beautiful, Abs. I have to admit the gardening posts are a little lost on me since I can't seem to keep plants of any kind alive. I do appreciate people that can, though, and I love to see people who can dig plants up and move them around and NOT kill them.
Also, can I just tell you how much I love that you're reading the Book Thief? I'd love to chat one night about it!
Dad,
YES. there were bite marks on the stems. It looks like the same creature that ate an entire watermelon out of my garden last year.
The investigation is ongoing, but I am referencing dental records.
Being a cop's daughter has it's perks, you know.
Kjersti, I love that I am reading 'The Book Thief' as well. I am finding it very interesting. I would love to talk to you about it and I can't wait to send it back to you with my notes! Thanks so much for sharing it with me.
