I Spy

Yesterday the cute girl that does our Music Time in primary was out of town, so I volunteered to do it. I have never done Music Time before and, truth be told, haven't the slightest clue how to lead music. But I figured, what the heck, it's primary kids, they don't care! Psh!

I looked around for some inspiration on Sugardoodle, which, by the way, is a gem, and I was not disappointed. I decided to play
'I Spy' with the kids, only I would go behind the piano and slightly alter something about my appearance, then I would come out and the kids would try to 'spy' what I changed. Whoever figured it out first got to pick a song to sing, we would sing the song, and then do it all over again.

Well, it was a success, but let me tell you, I got some classic primary kid responses.

For one round I put a tiny pink sticker on my shirt. It blended in very well and the kids had a hard time figuring out what I had changed whilst hiding behind the piano. The guesses ran the gamut. "You changed your neck!" one cried. "Your ankles are different!" shrieked another, clasping his hands together with excitement. Their looks of disappointment were almost too much to take when I told them that, no, my neck and even my ankles were the same neck and ankles I had had before I went behind the piano.

Next, I put a bobby pin in my hair. As soon as I walked out, a quiet little dear raised her hand. "Yes?" I inquired. "Um. I think your hair is a different color."

Finally, I changed from one pair of white sandals to another pair of older white sandals. As soon as I walked out one of the girls yelled, "Your shoes are uglier!"

She chose to sing "I Am I Child of God".
