A new do. And a new leaf.

As the refined and urbane Missy Elliott would say, I got my hair did. So check it out, foo.

Also, I harvested my first head of 'Red Sails' lettuce. This is quite an event for me. I can't tell you how moved I was by all the colors. I kept thinking of that line from Counting Crows ("All of the beautiful colors are very, very meaningful") as I turned each leaf over and over in my hands. There is something so rewarding in looking at a gorgeous lettuce leaf and knowing that I grew it from seed in my own garden.
And now you know that I'm the type of person who takes pictures of lettuce leaves and posts them on her blog. Who DOES that?!

Remember when you decided you wanted a garden and went out and started digging in the clay....we've come a long way since then.
