En mi jardin...

So I'm into gardening now. And I like it. I also like cats and books. I should have just been born an old woman.

Today, while making the daily rounds through my garden, I found my first pea pod. You have no idea how happy this makes me. The sun shone through it and I could see the silhouettes of the peas inside. I celebrated this occasion by taking pictures of it and some of the plants in my garden.

Hello sweet pea! These flowers were telling secrets. Probably something about my shoddy gardening skills.

The whole enchilada.
Let us...

Baby carrots in the nursery.
Cilantro. Get in my belly.

The sage of many colors (Purple Sage)The Lovely Romanesco Broccoli

I can't tell you how many times I thought I would lose this tomato. Now it's getting blossoms!

Mammoth Grey Stripe Sunflowers. Oh, these little lovelies just popped up today. It doesn't get much better than this.

Scarlet Flax sprouts

I couldn't resist my honeysuckle vine, either...

As you already know, I don't know the first thing about gardening / planting (i.e., I nearly ripped out every single calla lilly plant on the side of the house mere days before they all burst into bloom)but even I can appreciate seeing your hard work pay off. Except for that cilantro...

P.S. I don't know how you keep a garden in the backyard with a dog. Congrats though!

I looks like you have a rockin garden. I planted one this year, but I think I started too late. I need to get some tomatos in this weekend. Gardening, man I am getting old.

Your garden looks beautiful. I just weeded mine the other day. We have tomatoes, bell peppers, jalepenos, zucchinne, cucumbers, peas, lettuce, strawberries, raspberries and some herbs. I could spend all day in mine!

Orb,

Just found out that cilantro is the name of the stems and leaves of the coriandor plant. My herb knowledge grows!

Correction: it's actually, "coriander," not "coriandor." And I recommend the following website:

My Dear Abby,
I do love your posts. They make me laugh. I wish I had a house that I could plant beautiful flowers and vegetables in. I love the smell of Honeysuckles. That took me back home when I read that you had them. My neighbor had them. Oh I am homesick. Lets move home!!!
