I Know This Much Is True

that Calmoseptine is the best diaper rash ointment available,

that the sound of a binky with a little bit of water in it is on a level of adorableness on par with baby kittens,

that labor kicked my trash,

that when I was pregnant, I was a little bit crazy, but didn't know it,

that I've got a snuggle bug on my hands,

that I've got a finicky eater on my hands,

that good pediatricians don't grow on trees,

that I had a bout of baby blues, but didn't know it till it was over,

that Lydia is a hat hater, even if this picture might tell you otherwise,

that the scriptures take on a new meaning when you become a mother,

that you come to understand every facet of the word 'tender' when you become a mother,

that it's vital to swallow your pride and ask for help,

that "The Happiest Baby On The Block" was the best baby book I read, hands down,

that the love of God is, truly, man's greatest joy, and that it is evident in the face of a child,

that simple toys make the best toys,

that if it weren't for Kim, my mom, and Brian's mom, I might have jumped off a bridge during the first weeks of motherhood,

that I can't stand boogers in my kid's nose, and must dispatch them on site,

that Lydia is at her very cutest after her bath,

that Old Navy socks are the only socks that will stay on her feet,

that 'Tummy Time' totally blows,

that the baby monitor makes me a little jumpy,

that if I didn't know I married the right dude before, I certainly know it now,

that the dog loves the baby, and the baby loves the dog,

and that alien green poop comes and goes as it pleases.

Wow, I really love this! I've been noticing how tender your posts have been since Lydia was born. :) I love your updates, keep them coming!!

Every time I read your posts I either laugh, cry or do both. I always catch myself saying, "Yeah, so true!" every time as well. I love what you have to say and how you say it! You are a beautiful person and I am sure you are also a great mother. (I haven't witnessed in person, but Knowing you, you are)

I agree with Katie. So tender. There is nothing like motherhood. Amazing, painful, full of love, frustrating, helpless, and the greatest thing I have ever done!

Love your guts woman.

Can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks! We were driving by your house(your parents house) and we got to stop and chat with them for a bit.

We will have to set a time to do lunch, snuggle Lydia, etc. etc.

Spoken with the true wisdom of a mother. A great mother. Love you Abs, and the beautiful person you are. Cause you are.

On the baby blues: I recently battled a mean case myself... 8 months after Lola was born. I didn't realize what was going on, just thought I was going crazy. So know you aren't alone. Also, I love this post molto mucho.

Reading your posts make me feel more excited/not-so-freaked-out to be a mother. Keep them coming, because these episodes keep coming.

I think my favorites are the pictures. I love the one of Lydia and Cookie. I hope my Memphis is just as nice with my baby... when ever I have one. (Keep praying.) Love ya!
