Because Martinelli's is Mormon Fancy

I've been tagged by Tara. I actually liked this tag, I thought it was funny. And then I thought it was even funnier when I saw the picture I had to post. And then I started posting and got a little nostalgic and sniffly, and well, read on...
Way way back in ot six, Brian and I were celebrating our first Thanksgiving by ourselves. We had moved up to Oregon the year before and were both going to school. As a result, we opted to stay in our apartment for the holiday, rather than heading to Utah. Oh, how cool we thought we were.
It was exciting though, to just have Thanksgiving with the two of us. Setting the table that we bought at the Good Will all fancy (the tablecloth was an old curtain, clean though, alright?) and doing all the cooking made me feel like the Queen of my home. This was my spot, my kitchen, my man, and my cooking. And I loved it. It wasn't until later that I realized I'd cooked enough food for about ten hungry men. All the leftovers wouldn't even fit in our teeny apartment sized refrigerator with the broken drawer. It's funny to think back on our little apartment now. We spent two years there, but is seems like it went by in a wink. And that Thanksgiving day in that little apartment with just the two of us, I felt rich. Rich to have a wonderful husband, my grandmother's china, and a turkey in the oven. Yes, this is a good tag. A good tag indeed.
And since it has made me wax reminiscent, I think I'll throw in a couple more photos from that humble little Thanksgiving day.

Yes, yes I would like some sparkling cider.
Our entire apartment. Well, almost.

Setting the table

Cookin' up some candied bananas. That's right ladies. In Captain Morgan.

Now I'm just hungry.

The Cherry On Top: homemade cherry cream pie. This is my mom's recipe, and it will not be beat, I tell you.

Now I have to tag some other yo's for this fun little deal. So...I tag:

1. Mel Mel (Mrs. Cherry Cream Pie herself, thankyouverymuch.)

2. Christopher Alan

3. Caleb

4. Kjersti

5. Amy

6. Heather

And here are the rules:
1. Go to your documents/pictures.

2. Go to your 6th file.

3. Go to your 6th picture.

4. Blog about it.

5. Tag 6 people to do the same.

6. So here we go...

I am so totally impressed with your skills. Turkey basting skills, gravy making skills, cherry whipping skills. And I miss that apartment just a little bit. Good times were had there.

Ah, bananas foster! Haven't made that since, well, we almost got Lowell drunk.

Lol. Talk about memories.

I'm doin' this one too, but might have to tweak with the numbers a bit, since Cabe and I will have the same photo...

Also, I second Bridges remarks. Good times WERE had there.

Three cheers for apartment fridges! Woo! And an extra cheer for graduating to REAL side by side fridges. Aren't we so fancy?

Yes! With ICE MAKERS! And no, I CAN'T hear the neighbor flushing his toilet 89 times now. We HAVE graduated.
