Birthday Girl

For those of you hoping for a Favorite Places Tuesday post, I will be posting that tomorrow. I just had to use this post to say thank you to the many friends and family who have wished me a happy birthday. All the messages, phone calls, cards and gifts have been very touching.

You have all made me feel so loved.

I hope you know I love you, too.

Some very thoughtful gifts were received, among them were these little darlings:

This necklace was given to me by Kim, who also wrote a very sweet post to me on her blog. The little logo on this necklace is from Stephanie Nielson's blog, the Nie Nie Dialogues. Kim introduced me to her blog. She is recovering from severe burns as the result of a plane crash she was in in August with her husband, Christian. The proceeds from the purchase of this necklace went to Stephanie and Christian's medical bills. Not only was this a thoughtful gift, but meaningful in so many ways. And it's cute, to boot.

My good friend, Bridgette, gave me this beautiful little apron from Anthropologie, one of my favorite places in the whole wide world (perhaps I should count that as a Favorite Places Tuesday post?). When I opened it up and pulled it out of its box, the first thing I did was hold it to my face and took a big sniff. It even smelled like Anthropologie. Oh yeah, you know what I'm talking about.
I am never taking it off.

Kim also sent me some lip gloss that she found online. This lip gloss is special because we both used to wear this kind in high school. We loved it then. We thought it was gone. Oh, no, it's not. And she got me not one, but two tubes of it. Now THAT is a friend. Also? French milled owl soaps.

Perhaps the most moving gift was the blog post that my big brother, Chris, put up. I have no idea where he's had that picture all these years, but it sure did bring a tear (or seventy) to my eye.

Also, Brian had my carpets and upholstery professionally cleaned for me today. It was just what I wanted.

And you didn't think it could get any better...
